About Us

I've been offering handmade items online since around 2000 when I used to make Halloween masks and props. I've ran a website for most of that time offering my creations to the insanity of the Halloween crowd. That site back in those days underwent many name changes. Some of which were Smith's Grove Sanitarium, Killer Masks, Paper Target FX, The Casket Stuffer, and then Morningside Sanitarium which is what I've adopted to my home haunt that I run every year.

Since then I've evolved into 3D modeling, printing, prototyping and finishing.

Where did the current name come from? In the early 90s I dipped my feet into the computer programming pond. I ran a BBS (Bulletin Board System) long before the internet was available or even known to us puny citizens and I wanted to create games and programs for my BBS, so I did. One of these games was called "Galaxy 5" which was a text based RPG with limited graphics. The villain that players must defeat, was named the "Raven Morpheus" and he was an out of control droid created by the leaders of the galaxy as a means to police all 5 planets. But this droid saw the actions of it's very own creators as threatening, and destroyed them. He then set about to rule the galaxy rather than keep the peace.  The game was very popular and I carried the name over to my 3D printing store decades later and plan to adopt a fitting 3D modeled "Raven Morpheus" mascot soon.
